2). Reasons for Migration and Short History:

  1. Hazrat Syed Talha Zinda Noori Shah–a thorough Syed–got an excellent upbringing from the very beginning and went on to become a master and expert in religious as well as worldly school of thought.
  2. He first got married in Batala with a Syedda within the family and God bestowed two Sons upon him from this marriage. Billu Shah, the older son died at the age of seven whereas the younger son–Imam Shah–came of age and his family continued to live in Batala. At the time of migration Syed Talha Shah left behind his son Imam Shah with some respected women of the family in Batala.
  3. There are many reasons listed for Syed Talha’s migration; however, only the following two gained more credibility amongst the others.
    1. There was a Sikh in Batala who used to continuously insult Imam Ali. Syed Talha warned him multiple time overtime but to no avail so he killed the sikh and left Batala to come to “Derajat” which was a nomad land and a wilderness.
    2. The second credible reason for Syed Talha’s migration to Derajat is listed that when Goradhpour became a stronghold for Sikhs and they started to interfere with every walk of life. Batala was no different and the Muslims of the area felt the Sikh influence intensely. To make things worse one influential Sikh formed a group of eleven like-minded Sikh calligraphers for the sole purpose of damaging Islam. This group started to have regular sitting where these calligraphers intentionally prepared new copies of the Holy Quran with intentional and deliberate mistakes. Furthermore, after the preparation of these new Quranic volumes with merged boundaries of Halal and Haram and missing Quranic Ayas this group sold it in the market under value to gain circulation.
    3. Hazrat Syed Talha got instructed by God in his dream to take care of this situation. Syed Talha tried to make this group and its leader stop spreading such propaganda but the head sikh was blinded by his current status and power and therefore did not stop. Instead he went on insulting the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and also cursed Syed Talha for trying to stopping him.
Upon receiving God’s confirmation Syed Talha got rid of the head sikh and all of his eleven member group for good by killing them. After the beheading Syed Talha immediately got out of Batala on a horseback. The journey ended after several days when the horse stopped in a sandy and desert like area. Syed Talha took that as a sign from God and made that place his new home.
